Mr. Wilbur J. DeGrave Jr.

DeGrave, Wilbur J. Jr., Age 87, of Union Grove, (formerly Town of Dover) passed away peacefully at Oak Ridge Care Center in Union Grove on Saturday April 4, 2015. Wilbur was born in Burlington on January 21, 1928, the son of the late Laura B. (nee. George) and Wilbur J. DeGrave Sr. On December 1, 1956 he married Ruth O. Rohner in Racine, Wisconsin. Wilbur was a construction laborer and farmer for most of his life, retiring from Dykstra Excavating in 1989. In his early years he loved to hunt.

Wilbur is survived by his daughter: Laura (Steve) Filip of Waterford; grandchildren: Joe (Laura) Filip, Elizabeth (Mathew Callies) Filip, Miranda DeGrave, James DeGrave, and Maggie De Grave; great-grandchildren: Mackenzie Filip, Madison Callies, Payten DeGrave and Gabrielle DeGrave. He is also survived by two brothers: John and Joseph DeGrave and by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruth, two children: William DeGrave and Patricia Degrave; grandson: Steven Filip, brother: Raymond, and sisters-in-law: Mary and Joan DeGrave.

Visitation will be held on Thursday April 9, 2015 from 9-10:45 AM in the Funeral Home with Services starting at 11:00 AM. Burial in Yorkville Cemetery will follow services on Thursday.
