Schrank, Wilbert F., age 97, of Waterford, passed away peacefully at his home on December 20, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Lois (nee. Latharius); by sons Michael (Sandra), Robin (Phoebe) and William (Pamela). Loving grandpa of Kimberly (John) Thompson, Ian Schrank, Scott (Becca) Schrank, Andrew Schrank and Benjamin Schrank. Great-Grandpa to Elias, Madilyn, Jonas, Eden and Logan. Further survived by niece Karen Raht Hill and nephews Paul and Steven Hayes, sister Irene Hayes, other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by son Jeffrey and sisters Vera Schrank and Carol Raht.
“Bill” as he was best known was born June 11, 1917 to Herbert and Florence Schrank on the family farm. Bill was an athlete, hunter, trapper, fisherman and all around sportsman. He was an acclaimed south paw pitcher on the Land ‘O Lakes Big Bend baseball team that won grand championship in 1942. He was selected into the Land “O” Lakes Hall of Fame. Farming was his passion. Bill will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, and he will be missed by all.
Services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015, 11:00 AM at Christ Lutheran Church, S89 W22970 Maple Avenue in Big Bend. Visitation in Church from 10-10:45 AM. Burial will follow services at Oakwood Cemetery in Waterford.
