Mr. Verne John Stark

Stark, Verne J. Age 69 of Waterford passed away at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee December 15, 2012. Verne was born in Waterford the son of the late Alfred and Bernice (nee.Smerchek) Stark. He attended St. Thomas Elementary School and graduated Waterford High School. He then received his Bachelor’s degree from UW LaCrosse in Physical Education and went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Education. On July 25, 2008 he married Svetlana “Lana” Golenya. Verne was a school teacher most of his life retiring from the Oconomowoc School District. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, deer-hunting, reading and family time. Survived by his wife Lana, his step daughter Golenya Yuryevna, Sisters: Eileen (Neil) Hamilton, and Bernadette Asiatidis, Two Aunts: Florence Vacek and Betty Smerchek, Nieces and Nephews: Kim (Rich) Radtke, Michael Hamilton, Elliot Asiatidis and Demetri Asiatidis. Great Nieces and Nephews: Jordan, Griffin, Joshua and Alyssa. Further survived by other relatives, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his parents and one brother Frances Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday December 19th, 2012 11:00 AM at St. Clare Catholic Church, 7616 Fritz Street, Wind Lake, Wisconsin. Visitation in church 10-10:45 Wednesday. Burial following Mass at ST. Thomas Cemetery in Waterford. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested by the family to St. Clare Catholic Church.
