Lever, Vern D. Age 81 of Milwaukee formerly of Waterford passed away October 29 at the Terrace of St. Francis in Milwaukee. He was born in Sault St. Marie, Michigan November 29, 1927 to James and Hazel (nee. Stern) Lever. In Burbank, California he was united in marriage to Glenna Bonham and moved to Waterford and had been a resident of the area for 40 years. Then moved to Milwaukee and lived at the Villa of St. Francis for the past year and a half. Vern proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War inducted December 12, 1950 until November 23, 1952. Vern was a former member of Community United Methodist Church of Waterford and a current member of the Racine Moose Lodge. Surviving are daughter Brenda Lever of Milwaukee and son: Ryan (Deana) Lever of New Berlin, three grandchildren: Curtis Topel, Michael and Kayla Lever. Further survived by two brothers: Forrest Lever of Escanaba Michigan and Dean (Olga) Lever of Sault St. Marie, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Glenna, and one brother Stanley. Visitation with Family Saturday October 31st, 10-12 AM in the funeral home, Procession to Oakwood Cemetery at 12:00 Noon where Military Honors with Taps will be presented. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to S.E. Wisconsin Alzheimer’s association or The Villa of St. Francis.
