Reich, Thomas Eugene, age 74, of Yorkville, was called home by the Lord after a long battle with cancer on April 23, 2022. Tom was born to Charles and Eva (nee. Graetz) Reich April 1, 1948, in Waukesha. Tom grew up on the family sod and vegetable farm in Wind Lake. After graduating from Waterford Union High School, he attended trade school to become an electrician. He was employed by Bakke Electric until his retirement. Tom met the love of his life in Nancy Jo Potokar and were married June 20, 1970, at the old United Methodist Church on Main Street. Tom and Nancy moved into their forever home in Yorkville, 1973, where they started their family and raised three wonderful children. Tom was a member of Norway Lutheran Church and long-time member of the 440th Air Force Reserves. Tom liked woodworking, he even built bunkbeds for his grandchildren. Tom loved the outdoors and being at his cabin in Irma, WI where he enjoyed hunting. Tom was an avid gardener, growing vegetables and even dabbled in chickens, however this was all second to the love he had for his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one wonderful years, Nancy, three children, Ryan (Kristina), Nathan (Brenda), and Heather (Kevin) Wilber; six grandchildren, Tom, Hank, Hunter, Bailey, Andrew, and Sophia; brother, John (Sandy), and sister, Nancy, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, brother Chuck, and sister-in-law Jackie.
A memorial gathering will take place Saturday May 7, 2022, at Norway Lutheran Church, old church on the hill, 6321 Heg Park Rd., Wind Lake, WI 53185 from 9-10:45 AM with a service starting at 11 AM followed by an inurnment and military honors.
