Kertz, Thomas J. age 67, of Boulder, Colorado, formerly of the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area strolled quietly into eternal life August 4, 2020. He will be deeply missed and forever loved and remembered by his loving family.
Tom was fondly called “Ohha” by his nieces and nephews, a nickname given by one nephew as a toddler.
Tom spent his early life in the Milwaukee area, growing up in West Allis and New Berlin. He attended Marquette University and ultimately received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. As a young man he was smitten by wanderlust and subsequently moved to the Boulder area of Colorado, where he lived for most of his adult life. Tom was energized by working and meeting people. He particularly enjoyed his work at Coors Field in Denver where he served for almost 25 years. He loved to travel throughout the West and relished showing family members the sites when they visited. Tom was an avid sports fan who always cheered for the Rockies, Broncos and Buffaloes, but never gave up his loyalty to the Brewers, Packers, Golden Eagles, and Badgers. Tom was a devout Catholic Christian, a kind and thoughtful soul. He cherished the many friends he made along the way.
“Now he walks in quiet solitude the forests and the streams seeking grace”
Tom is survived by two sisters, Barbara (Larry) Gabrysiak, and Kathleen Jensen; nieces, Beth (Travis) Wolter, Sally Jensen, and Kate (Joe) Cognac; nephews, Andy and Nick Gabrysiak; grandnieces, Evellyn Wolter and Clara Cognac; other relatives and many friends. He will be truly missed.
Preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph F. and Gladys A. (nee. Pelnar) Kertz.
Private services and inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy the family suggests memorials to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church or the charity of your choice in memory of Tom.
