Draper, Susan Hinnendael, of Waterford, peacefully concluded this lifetime in the early morning of September 29th, 2018 at the young age of 58.
She took her last breath holding the hand of her husband of 28 years, having found serenity with her journey. While her encounter with stage 4, non-small cell lung cancer was short, her life was not.
Born in Bayside, Wisconsin on June 8th, 1960, Sue enjoyed skiing in winter, bicycling along her favorite path in spring, gardening and tending to her backyard oasis in summer, and watching spooky Halloween documentaries in fall. An avid swimmer and lover of aquatic activities, her love of water lasted long after she completed her studies at Nicolet and Homestead High School(s). A tremendous travel agent at Neider, and caterer at Chef Jack’s Catering, and pool cleaner, Susan’s favorite job was being a mom.
Sue unconditionally loved and cared for her two children, Kristen and Kevin Draper, her husband, James R. Draper, and their house full of dogs. Deeply loved by all, she is especially beloved by her father, John Hinnendael, her second mother, Mary Thuemling, and her soul sister, Sally Fredricksen. She lives on through each of them. She is also survived by her brother, Jack (John Jr.) Hinnendael, and her mother, Patricia Hinnendael, as well as numerous other friends and family.
Always with a smile on her face and laughter in her heart, she brought unconditional love and happiness to all she met. She found great joy in cycling with her friends in spin class at the Aurora Wellness Center, reading mystery novels, and traveling.
While her journey in this lifetime may have ended, her love will continue to transcend lifetimes and bodies. We will continue to embody the love that Sue so generously gave. Her love and warmth are the magic of the sunshine on your face in the early morning. Please do not hesitate to share your love and memories of Sue with her family and friends.
In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, Sue requested that donations and contributions be made to the Wisconsin Humane Society.
A Celebration of Life will take place Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the South Shore Pavilion, 1:00 - 4:00 PM, 2900 South Shore Dr., Milwaukee, WI 53207.
Draper family would like to give a big heartfelt thank you to the staff at Froedtert Medical Center, Horizon Hospice, Sally and other friends and neighbors for all the love and support they gave during this difficult time.
