Stanger, Shirley M., age 80, of Burlington, passed away at Memorial Hospital of Burlington on August 23, 2015. Shirley was born in Milwaukee on December 5, 1934, the daughter of John and Mary (nee. Janicek) McKillop. She was a West Allis High School graduate and on November 15, 1956 she married Richard Stanger who has preceded her in death. Shirley worked as a secretary at Royal Trucking and was a homemaker and raised four children. Later she worked for Instamatics in Waterford. Shirley was an avid Packers and Brewers fan and loved to play bingo. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Shirley is survived by her children: Rick (Leslie), Scott (Evelyn), Mark, Shari (Robert) Gauger; grandchildren: Amy (Dylan) Rausch, Kalee (fiance’ Mitch), Kate, Bryce, Matt and Corine; one great-granddaughter; and her two brothers: Joseph (Rosemary) McKillop and Robert “Buck” McKillop; and by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, sister and brother-in-law: Marie (Ervin) “Mike” Stenzel.
Visitation will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday August 27, 2015 from 4-6 PM with services starting at 6 PM. Burial will take place on Friday morning, August 28th, at 11:00 AM in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery in Waterford, please meet at the cemetery. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy the family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
