Johnson, Ruth Marion (nee. Hanson) Mrs. Nelson H., Age 97, of Waukesha, formerly of Waterford, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2012. She was born on November 25, 1914 on the Hanson Farm in the Town of Norway, the daughter of the late Albert and Clara (nee. Ludwig) Hanson. She attended Hillcrest School and was a 1932 Waterford High School Graduate. She attended Wisconsin Commercial Academy in Milwaukee were she learned Secretary Training. Ruth worked 63 years, 6 months and 12 days as a legal secretary for her husband Attorney Nelson H. Johnson. A lifelong member of Norway Lutheran Church, she was the first woman elected to the church council. Ruth enjoyed working as a legal secretary and always expressed how she enjoyed filling out tax returns. It is very fitting that she gains eternal peace on Tax Day 2012. Survived by stepdaughter: Karen (Carl) Engelhardt, granddaughters: Kirsten and Katie Engelhardt, sister-in-law: Ruth Hanson, nieces: Ellen (Cliff) Gald, Jean (Keith) Belter, Eileen Johns, nephews: John Stalbaum, Thomas (Joanne) Hanson, and Brian (Joan) Johnson, grandnieces, grandnephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, husband: Nelson Johnson, sister: Lucille Stalbaum, brother: Alton Hanson, and grandnephew: Benjy Belter. Services will be held on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Norway Lutheran Church, 6321 Heg Park Road, Wind Lake. Visitation in church Monday 10-11 AM. Burial at 1:30 in the afternoon at North Cape Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy memorials suggested to Norway Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the family.
