Mr. Rudolph Benedict Pavlik

Pavlik, Rudolph “Rudy” Benedict, age 91, of Waterford, passed away peacefully at his residence July 22, 2020. Rudy was born in Milwaukee, WI to John & Anna (nee. Kuchta) Pavlik on February 7, 1929. Rudy served his country in the Navy with two tours, serving in both WWII and Korea. During this time, Rudy met the love of his life, Agnes Marie Schroeder. After a short engagement, they were married in Sturgeon Bay, WI on July 11, 1953. Rudy and Agnes lived in South Milwaukee and he worked at Ladish Co. until his retirement in 1986. At this time, they moved to Tennessee where they resided until moving to Waterford in 1998. Rudy was involved in the Veterans Organization, stamp collecting and gardening. He enjoyed helping at St Thomas Aquinas Church by ushering and helping with the fish fry. Rudy was a project master in the home but above all Rudy was known for his love of God, country and family. He will be truly missed.

(Rudy would say this as he raised his can of Blatz. It was believed to translate to “cheers”. We have since discovered that it is the name of a Pizza Truck in Staten Island, NY. If you have the chance to visit, stop in and tell ‘em Rudy sent ya!)
Rudy is survived by children Linda (Curtis) Connor, Barbara, Shirley (Keith) Brungraber; grandchildren Andrew Connor, Marcus (Lissa) Connor, Abby Connor, Robert (Shana) Hansen, Daniel (Sandy) Tipler, Ashley Tipler; nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, loving wife, brothers John (Jennie), Joseph (Louise) and sister Annie (Tony) Janicek.
A Memorial Gathering will be held Friday July 31, 2020 from 10-10:45 AM at St Thomas Catholic Church, 305 S. First St. Waterford, WI 53185 with Mass starting at 11 AM followed by military honors. A private inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy Rudy’s family suggest memorials to his favorite charities: St Joseph’s Indian School (Chamberlain SD) and Boys Town.
