Robert Ernest Funk

Funk, Robert E., passed away on June 13, 2016 at the age of 92. Robert was born in Caledonia, WI on June 21, 1923 to Ernest and Marion (nee. Geisner) Funk. He graduated from Racine County Ag School in Rochester in 1942. He then joined the Marine Corps and served 3 years overseas in the South Pacific during World War II. In April 1945 he married his high school sweetheart, Helen Hanson.
Robert was an International Harvester Co. parts man and salesman for dealers until he purchased his own dealership in Elkhorn, WI. He was a member of Norway Lutheran Church.
Robert is survived by his wife Helen, son Randall, daughter Susan, one grandchild and several great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister Maxine (Richard) Zimmerman; brothers-in-law: Gerald (Karen) Hanson and Ralph Frost; sisters-in-law: Mary Hanson and Donna Hanson; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marjorie Paque, brother John (Glennis) Funk, brothers-in-law: Don Hanson and Wayne Hanson; and sisters-in-law: Jean Frost and Olene (Russell) Johnson.
Visitation will be held on Monday June 20, 2016 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM with services beginning at 11:00 AM at Norway Lutheran Church – 6321 Heg Park Rd. Wind Lake, WI 53185. Burial in Norway Hill Cemetery will follow services. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, the family suggests memorials be made to Norway Lutheran Church.
