Richard (Dick) Fitzgerald
March 11, 1929 ~ August 19, 2016
Dick Fitzgerald, a longtime resident of Wind Lake, Wisconsin passed away due to complications of leukemia and pneumonia at Waukesha Hospital. He was born to Thomas and Bertha Fitzgerald and was one of eight children. He left high school early to join the Navy, but returned to get his GED. He married Gloria Fitzgerald and they built a beautiful life together. Dick worked as a welder, an insurance agent, and was the front line supervisor at AC Delco. He was also a machinist on the space and Boeing projects. He was an avid pheasant and deer hunter, a voracious reader, and a jack of all trades. He and his brother Champ built Dick and Gloria’s most recent house. Dick had a great sense of humor, a strong work ethic, and a love for his family,
Dick is preceded in death by his beloved wife Gloria, his parents: Thomas and Bertha ; his father-in-law: Marvin Hucksdorf: his mother-in-law; Eleanor Hucksdorf: and his granddaughter; Emily Fitzgerald: as well as his brothers Thomas, Charles, (Chuck), Champ, and sister Donna(Sis).
Dick is survived by daughter Peggy Fisher and her husband Chuck: daughter Shelley Molland and her husband Paul, and son Scott Fitzgerald. He is also survived by special friends Kay Fitzgerald and Judy Fitzgerald.
Dick loved nothing more than being surrounded by his grandchildren and his legacy will carry on through them, Christopher Weber, Paul Weber, Lisa Charles, Keith Fitzgerald, Kevin Molland, Cody Molland, Ashley Fitzgerald, and Carly Fitzgerald.
Dick’s great-grandchildren Brennan, Stella, Ellie, and Harper have had too short of time with him, but they will learn more and more about him as the stories shared by family members continue through the years.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 24, 2016 from 1-2:15 PM in the Funeral Home with services starting at 2:30 PM. A burial in Norway Hill Cemetery will follow the service. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy Richard's family suggest memorials to the “Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Wisconsin Chapter”.
