Willms, Richard “Dick” Clarence, age 78, of Waterford, WI passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Friday March 11, 2022.
The son of the late Harry F. Willms Sr. and Wilhelmina M. (Balkovich) Willms. Born in Milwaukee, Richard came to Waterford at a young age. His father, one of the founding members of the Tichigan Volunteer Fire Department, was an avid firefighter. Richard followed in his footsteps as a fireman. Richard was always a great helper and helped run the family filling station. He married the love of his life “Angie” Angelika S. (Kowalik) Willms on June 25, 1966. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and handyman. However, the love he had for his family, especially the grandchildren, was greater than everything, he will be missed by all who knew them.
Survived by three children: Kristy (Kurt) Handrich, Daun Boll and Scott (Jen Kienbaum) Willms. Grandchildren: Joshua (Erika Kirkstein-Zastrow) Handrich, Jacob Handrich, Samantha (Dakota Kunz) Salemi, Daniel (Jackie Drake) Salemi, Trinity Willms and Cassity Willms, other nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. Preceded in death by his parents and loving wife on Tuesday, June 19, 2018.
Visitation will be held on Sunday March 13, 2022, from 1 pm – 2:45 pm at Norway Lutheran Church 6321 Heg Park Rd. Wind Lake, WI 53185. Service will follow at 3 pm. A private family burial to follow later in the week. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy the family suggests memorials to The Charity of your Choice.
