Seidel, Raymond F., age 93, passed away at Waterford Senior Living on January 14, 2011. Raymond was born July 20, 1917, in East Troy, son of the late Edward and Emma (nee. Brown) Seidel. On November 13, 1943, he married Mary Ann Luetten at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Waterford. A lifelong resident of the Waterford area, he worked as a milk distributor for Seidel Dairy and Borden Milk for 39 years. After selling the milk distributorship, Ray worked for the Racine County Highway Dept. for 12 years before retiring. Ray was a proud charter member of the Waterford Lions Club. He held many local and district positions during his 50 years of membership, including District Governor in 1977-1978. In addition to his role with the Lions organization, he served as a Waterford Village Trustee for 13 years, from 1952 to 1965 and Village President for 6 years, from 1965-1971. He was a member of the Police and Fire Commission, Streets, Parks and Utilities Committees and a 20 year member of the Waterford Fire and Rescue Squad. Ray served as Chairman of Western Racine County Sewerage Commission and President of Catholic Knights Insurance Society, Branch 178. Ray and Mary Ann enjoyed traveling. In later years, they especially enjoyed their trips to Arizona to visit family. Ray enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing cards and visiting with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Ann, daughter Jeanne (Bob) O’Connell; son Rick (Cindy) Seidel; grandchildren Steve (Meg) O’Connell, Karen O’Connell, Tom O’Connell, Tim (fiance’ Jess) Seidel and Jill Seidel. Further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Ray is preceded in death by his parents, along with his twin brother Bob Seidel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 18th at 10:00 AM in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 307 S. First St., Waterford, WI. Burial in the church cemetery will follow Mass. Visitation will be held in Church on Monday evening, January 17th, from 4-7 PM. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy the family would appreciate memorials to the Wisconsin Lions Camp or St.Thomas School Fund or Waterford Public Library.
