Modrak, Raymond C., age 89, of Waterford, passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Medical Center with his loving family by his side on July 17, 2017. Raymond was born to Edward and Julianne (nee. Kaminski) Modrak on April 21, 1928 in Milwaukee. He proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps at the end of WWII and served during Korea and Vietnam, finally retiring after 20 years. Raymond met the love of his life, Patricia J. Klaus, while stationed in Green Bay. Raymond and Patricia were married December 30, 1952 in Waukegan, IL. The Modrak family bought land in Waterford along the river to serve as a family getaway on the weekends which eventually grew into the family residence. Raymond also retired after a 20-year career at the Waterford Post Office. They relocated to Bella Vista, Arizona in the 1990’s. Raymond was an avid outdoorsman; he loved camping, hunting and gardening. He loved to can his own tomato juice, make his own polish sausage, root beer, sauerkraut, and even tried rendering lard. He was also one of the biggest Green Bay Packer fans, but none of this could compare to the love he had for his family and pride in serving his country.
Raymond is survived by children: Lauren (Steven) Keating, Michael (Susan) Modrak, Kenneth (Denise) Modrak; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and sister-in- law: Joan Modrak.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of over 60 years, his parents and one brother: Malcolm.
