Campbell, Mildred “MILLIE’ (nee. Merhing), of Waterford, passed away at Personally Yours Eldercare on Monday, December 14, 2015 at the age of 99. She was born in Waukesha on March 28, 1916 to Otto Mehring and Anna Mehring nee. Chart, and had been a lifelong resident of Waterford. On February 19, 1938 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Waterford, she was united in marriage to Gardiner “Bud” H. Campbell. She was a farmer and a charter member of St. Clare Catholic Church.
Mildred loved her family and helping others. In her younger days she loved to go dancing with Bud when he played in Melody Makers Band, in later years she had bingo fever. Mildred’s favorite time of year was spring, she loved all the different shades of green. Millie loved to sneak away and get ice cream, always saying “this will be our secret.” She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Mildred is survived by two children, Sharon (Herb) Janke of Waterford and Larry (Penny) Campbell of Melrose, WI. Grandchildren, LeAnn Janke, Greg (Carri) Janke, Dean (Lucy) Janke, Tammy (Roland) Schneider, Jay (Gail) Campbell, Nick (Debbie) Campbell, John (Ashley) Campbell, Tony Campbell, and Shantrice Higgins, and grand daughter-in-law Stevie Janke. She is further survived by 19 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gardiner; one son Jerome; two daughters, Beverly and Kay; and two grandchildren Terry Campbell and Doug Janke; and one sister Irene Albrecht.
Visitation will take place Friday, December 18, 2015 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Clare Catholic Church – 7616 Fritz Rd. Wind Lake, WI 53185. Mass will follow at 11:00. Burial will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery following Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Clare Catholic Church.
