Mary Bernadine Sikes "Mary Dean"

Sikes, Mary Bernadine “Mary Dean” (nee. Underwood) age 95, of Burlington, WI (formerly of Kermit, TX) passed away peacefully at Pine Brook Pointe Assisted Living with her loving family by her side on May 24, 2017. Mary Dean was born in Gran Quivira, NM to Samuel and Lizzie Underwood on January 20, 1922. As a child her family moved to Kermit, TX where she finished school. In 1947 she married Charles E. Sikes and resided in Kermit, TX. In 1999 they moved to Burlington, WI to be near their daughter.
Mary Dean is survived by one son: Wayne (Verna) Sikes, one daughter: Susie (Bart) Stark, six grandchildren who were the delight of her life: Emily, Joshua, and JR Sikes, Ben, Chris, and Bailee Stark. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2000, one sister in 1995, and one brother in 2001.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 10AM-12PM at Mealy Funeral Home, 225 W. Main S., Waterford, WI 53185. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy Mary Dean’s family suggests memorials be made to the charity of your choice in her memory.
