Kurer, Mary Frances (nee. Meyer) age 55, of Waterford, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2014. Mary was born in Burlington on April 4, 1959, the daughter of Harold and Lucille Meyer. She graduated from Waterford Union High School and was a foreign exchange student in Brazil following her senior year. After high school Mary trained to be a Travel Agent and also went to Gateway Technical College where she worked on a Marketing degree. She married Ronald J. Kurer at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Waterford on July 5, 1986. They raised four children. Mary worked for Southern Wisconsin Center from 1977 until 1993 as a Resident Care Technician. She was a lifetime member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and she loved to travel, especially to Florida and Brazil. Mary will be missed by all of her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband: Ron; children: Hannah (Alexei) Strelchenko of Windsor WI, Melissa ("Forever Son-in-law" Jim Oleson) of Madison and Sarah in Waterford; one grandchild on the way; her mother: Lucille Meyer; mother-in law: Esther Kurer of Hancock, WI; special friend Cindy (Chuck) Giammo; sister: Margaret Meyer; brothers and sisters-in-law: Dennis (Germaine Thomas) Kurer, Kathy (Marc) Addis, Darleen (Ken) Baas, Susie (Gary) Kasch, Joyce (Howard) Rohda, Jim (Sue) Kurer and John (Patty) Kurer; other relatives and friends
Preceded in death by her father: Harold; son: Joshua; father-in-law: Clarence Kurer; grandparents: Richard (Margaret) Huening, grandparents: Arthur (Anne) Meyer and grandma: Fannie Meyer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, September 4, 2014, 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 South First Street, Waterford, 53185. Visitation In Church on Thursday from 9-10:45 AM. Burial in the Church cemetery to follow. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy memorials are suggested to the family so they may be distributed to all of Mary’s favorite charities.
Family wishes to send a heartfelt "Thank You" to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at D.N. Greenwald and Waukesha Memorial Oncology Departments for their special care of Mary and also to the Nurses and Staff at Seasons Hospice in Waukesha for their kind and considerate care.
