Simonsen, Mary Jane (nee. Avila) age 72, passed away with loving family at her side on May 3, 2022. She was born in Texas on June 8, 1949, the daughter of the late Antonio and Guadalupe (nee. Guardiola) Avila. She attended Lakeview Elementary school in Wind Lake. On May 7, 1972, she married Larry P. Simonsen. Mary Jane worked on the Burmeister Sod Farm for many years. She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Clare Catholic Church in Wind Lake. Mary Jane enjoyed the “Oldies,” 50’s and 60’s music. She was a loving Mom and sister and enjoyed the company of her family.
Survived by her three sons that she shares with her ex-husband Larry P. Simonsen, Paul (Raynelle) Simonsen, Christopher (Valerie) Simonsen, and William Patrick Simonsen. Further survived by four loving grandchildren, Marcos P. Simonsen, Brett M. Simonsen, Alexandra G. Simonsen, and Maxwell D. Simonsen. Also survived by siblings, Marcos A. Avila, Luis (Diane) Avila, Juan Miguel Avila, Guadalupe (Rolando) Gamez, Juan Antonio Avila, Esteban (Dawn) Avila, Reymundo Avila, Isabel (Fred) Bublitz, and Leticia (Greg) Withrow, and by other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Guadalupe (nee. Guardiola) Avila; and by nieces, Jamie Saben, and Anna Maria Gamez.
Visitation at St. Clare Catholic Church, 7616 Fritz Street, Wind Lake Wisconsin 53185, on Friday May 13, 2022, from 12-1:00 PM with Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial in Rochester Cemetery to follow Mass. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorials made to: “NAMI of Southeast Wisconsin” to benefit Mental Health Awareness.
