Mr. Marvin E. Saltzmann

Saltzmann, Marvin E. “Marv”, Age 72, of Waterford, passed away peacefully at home on June 13, 2013 after a short battle with cancer. Marv was born on the family farm, July 21, 1940. It is there that he spent his entire life as a dairy farmer. He attended Hillcrest Graded School and graduated from Waterford High School in 1958. He married Barbara E. Schmidt at St. Thomas Church in Waterford on August 20, 1960. They raised four children. Marvin was a dedicated 30 + year member of the Racine County Ag Society where he served on the Board of Directors, was head of the tractor pull committee and held the President’s position for some 25 years. Marv loved the Racine County Fair, attending auctions, and driving his skid steer around the farm. He was a member of Norway Lutheran Church. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandkids. Marv is survived by his loving wife of 52 years: Barb; four children: JoAnn (Greg) Winski, Judy (Ken) Uhlenhake, Scott (Kim) Saltzmann and Jill Saltzmann; grandchildren: Matthew (Katelyn Dilley), Andrew, Samuel, Lucas, Melanie, Weston, Courtney, Chloe, Christopher and Morgan; sisters: Arlene Bertelson and Beverly (Vernon) Reed, sisters/brothers-in-law: Betty (Don) Felton, Fran Mainus, Jim (Pam) Schmidt, Barb Schmidt, Rosie (Rusty) Storm, Randy Storm and Rick Schmidt; other relatives and many friends. Preceded in death by his parents, two infant daughters, brother: Eugene, sister-in-law: Sharon, brothers-in-law: Stan Mainus and Jerry Schmidt. Services will be held at Norway Lutheran Church, 6321 Heg Park Rd, Wind Lake, WI on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 4:00 in the afternoon. Visitation IN THE FUNERAL HOME on Monday, June 17th from 4-8 PM and also on Tuesday, June 18th at Norway Lutheran Church from 3-3:45 PM. Burial in Norway Hill Cemetery following services on Tuesday. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy the family suggests memorials to: Racine County Ag Society, Norway Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
