Ensing, Marion Elizabeth age 88 of Burlington, passed away peacefully at Mt. Carmel Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Burlington on January 8, 2010. She was born in Lyons, WI to the late Leonard and Anna (nee. Reuhs) Robers. She lost her mother at a tender age and was raised by her father and stepmother Louise. Marion was a graduate of Burlington High School and then attended Normal School in Union Grove, graduating in 2 years. Her first teaching job was in the one room Duckett School on Hwy 142 and later she taught 3rd grade at St. Mary’s School in Burlington. On October 20, 1945 she was united in marriage to Francis George Ensing at St. Charles Catholic Church in Burlington. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1986. Marion continued her education at UW Whitewater, graduating in 1973 with a degree in Special Education. She taught 13 years of Special Ed at Waterford Union High School. She retired from teaching at Sunny Grove School in Union Grove. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Burlington where she taught Special Education within the REP program, and a former member of St. Charles Catholic Church where she belonged to the St. Anne’s Society. Marion loved to travel, especially to Europe and spent much time in Germany and Switzerland. She was an animal lover, enjoyed sewing and belonged to numerous bridge card clubs. She is survived by two daughters: Ellen Chilson of Burlington and Diane (Bernard) Meyer of Elkhorn, Grandchildren: Derek Meyer and Sarah Meyer, further survived by nieces and nephews in the Waterford area along with cousins, other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday January 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 108 McHenry St., Burlington, with Reverend Robert Gosma officiating. Visitation in Church from 10:00 AM until time of Mass on Tuesday. Burial in the Church cemetery following mass.
