Mrs. Marilyn Halbach

Halbach, Marilyn E., Age 79, of Waterford, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Saturday, June 30, 2012. She was born in Raymond on September 27, 1932, the daughter of William and Lucille (nee: Massmann) Henkel. She was a graduate of Waterford High School. She married Donald Halbach on June 3, 1950 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. They lived on the Halbach Homestead following marriage. Marilyn was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and watching her kids and grandchildren play sports. She was an active member of St. Thomas Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years: Donald, children: Linda (Richard) Johnson, Teresa (Kevin) Miles, Steve (Patti) Halbach, John (Diane) Halbach and Gary Halbach, grandchildren: Sarah (Brian) Garver, Jill (Curtis) Lehnert, Ryan (Christy) Miles, Kasey (Jonathan) Haggerty, Becky (Dave) Buehler, Kim (Jake) Armstrong, Angelika Halbach, Jessie Halbach and Brock Halbach, great-grandchildren: Grace, Noah, Angel, Sophie, Gwen, Joe and Tom, two brothers: William (Shirley) Henkel and Dick (Karen) Henkel, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, step-father: Marvin Bassing and one son: Tim. Services will be held on Tuesday ,July 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 South First Street, Waterford, with Reverend Gene Doda Jr. officiating. Visitation in church on Tuesday from 9-11 AM. Inurnment in the church cemetery following services. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, the family suggests memorials to St. Thomas Parish or School.
