Mrs. Luella Schmidt

Schmidt, Luella J., Age 98, of the Town of Norway, passed away peacefully at home on January 21, 2014. She was born on April 29, 1915 the daughter of the late Ed and Sarah Jacobson. After graduating High School, Luella married Lloyd Schmidt on February 17, 1940 at the Norway Lutheran Parsonage. Lloyd preceded her in death on August 15, 1981. Luella was a lifelong member of Norway Lutheran Church where she participated in the Quilters Group and the Tichigan Circle. She enjoyed being a farmer’s wife and spending time sorting apples from her orchard, gardening and tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed cooking and baking. She is survived by her daughter: Sara (Stu) Bennerotte, son: Lynn Schmidt, Judy Schmidt, grandchildren: Darin Schneider, Tracy (Luke) Bird, Tammy, Chris and Tim Schmidt, great-grandchildren: Audra, Alaina and Adriana Bird. Luella is further survived by her special friend: Diane Behrens, nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd, granddaughter: Dawn Schneider. Also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters. Services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014, 12:00 Noon at Norway Lutheran Church, 6321 Heg Park Road, Wind Lake, WI. Visitation will be IN CHURCH on Saturday from 9:30-11:30 AM. Burial in Norway Hill Cemetery following services on Saturday. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, the family suggests memorials to Norway Lutheran Church.
