LeRoy Schaefer

Schaefer, LeRoy J. Age 86 of Town of Norway, Racine County Died at home Tuesday September 25th. Born in Raymond the son of Rosa Suzanna and Louis Schaefer. He spent his early life in Raymond and Wind Lake where he attended school. On April 15, 1944 at Sacred Heart Church in Cudahy he married Florence E. Bong whom preceded him in death March 2, 2002. The couple lived in South Milwaukee and than Milwaukee and settling in the Town of Norway. He was a service and parts manager for Unit Crane and Shovel. LeRoy proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Air Force. A long time member of St. Clare Catholic Church in Wind Lake where he was on the building committee, also served on the building committee for Norway Shores of Wind Lake. Survived by special friend and companion Janice Griel of Waterford, four children: Peggy Zacher of Town of Norway, John Schaefer of Wautoma, Sue (Daniel) Katzner of Three Lakes & Raymond Schaefer of Milwaukee, 9 grandchildren and MANY great-grandchildren. Further survived by one brother Raymond J. Schaefer other relatives and friends. Proceeded in death by his parents, his wife: Florence, Son: Tom, Grandson: Rick & Great-grandchild Shannon. Mass of Christian burial 10:00 A.M. Monday Oct 1, at St. Clare Catholic Church 7616 Fritz Road, Wind Lake. Visitation Sunday evening 4-7 in the funeral home.
