Pokora, Leonard “Len” age 79, of Waterford, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, June 26, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee. Leonard was born in Milwaukee on November 30, 1937, the son of the late Leonard Sr. and Lorraine (nee. Juszkiewicz) Pokora. He was a 1955 graduate of South Division High School and proudly served his country in the Army Reserve. On May 21, 1960, he married Susan C. Speerbrecher and the couple lived in Milwaukee until moving to Waterford. Leonard was an inspector for the City of Milwaukee - Department of Public Works where he had retired.
Len is survived by his loving wife Susan, children: Tina (Craig) McAteer; David (Jackie) Pokora and Steven (Chris) Pokora; grandchildren: Mike (Melanie) McAteer, Tracy (George) Dominiak, Amy (Michael) Ruffino, Jacob, Cal and Jack Pokora; great-grandchildren: Fiona, Fitzgerald and Holly Pearl; sisters: Jacqueline Nuedling and Theresa Sroka (Dan). He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Len was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Amy Pokora.
A Memorial Gathering with family and friends will be held on Saturday July 1, 2017, from 9-10:45 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 S. First Street, Waterford, WI 53185 with Memorial Mass to follow at 11:00 AM. A private inurnment will take place at Forest Home Cemetery. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, the family suggests memorials be made to: St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in memory of Leonard.
