Lee H. Stowasser Blair Nebraska, formerly Waterford Wisconsin. Sept. 8, 1920 – Nov. 1, 2011 Lee H. Stowasser, 91, father of David L. Stowasser Sr. passed away at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Nursing Home, Blair, Neb. Lee was born on Sept. 8, 1920, in Elroy, Wis., to Margaret F. Fobes and Thomas V. Stowasser. On Oct. 10, 1944, he married Doris L. Hall in Swansea, Wales. She passed away May 3, 1968. He later married Mildred L. Anderson on July 14, 1973, in Oswego, Ill. She preceded him in death on March 9, 1995. Lee was a retired product development and research engineer from Caterpillar Tractor in Aurora, Ill. He enjoyed collecting rocks and gems, and was an avid stamp collector. He was a member of the Neighborhood Church of the Brethren, Boulder Hills, Ill; an Army Captain of the Engineer Corp World War II; a 50-year Mason and 32nd degree Scottish Rites Mason; a bagpiper of the Medinah Highlanders and the Tunes of Glory; an Arthur Murray Dance champion; and a member of Moose Lodge No. 254, Aurora, Ill. Lee demonstrated his bagpiping skills throughout the years for Rochester middle and high school band classes, as well as at the First Baptist Church of Rochester. Survivors include his sister, Viladene Schmidt Uebele, of Waterford, Wis.; four children, Susan (Richard) Hallgren, of Valley, Neb., David (Elizabeth) Stowasser Sr., of Rochester, June (Raymond) Robinson, of Aurora, Ill., and Lynne (Jeffery) Fox, of Marietta, Ga.; one step-son, David Anderson, of Valley, Neb.; seven grandchildren, Christopher Hallgren, Richelle Hallgren, David (Susan) Stowasser Jr., Lauretta Parker, Stephen(Jennifer)Parker 11, Brett (Angela) Stowasser, and Justin Fox; 11 great-grandchildren, Nicholas Parker, Brittany Senter, Carrie Radetski, Morgan, Cassie and Kaylee Hallgren, Luke and Jenna Stowasser, Alexa Stowasser, Breaden and Stephen Parker 111, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wives, Doris and Mildred; parents, Thomas and Margaret; step-father, John Berndt; and an infant sister, Ethelbelle Marita Stowasser. Services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mealy Funeral Home, 225 W. Main St., Waterford, WI 53185. Visitation in the funeral home 12-1 pm. Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Waterford, Wis., where military services and bagpipers will pay tribute. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice of Fulton County, The American Heart Association or the charity of donors’ choice.
