Larka Lackey

Larka C. Lackey Age 93 of Waterford Mrs. Larka C. Lackey born on March 3rd, 1914 to Chris and Alma (nee. Topp) Storm just west of Waterford on High Drive. She was baptized on May 31st, 1914 and was THE OLDEST lifetime member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Waterford. On October 24, 1936 she was married to Prentice E. Lackey. Larka and Prentice shared 50 years of marriage before Prentice passed away. They spent the first 11 years of their marriage on a farm in East Troy. Then moved to a farm 2 miles west of Waterford for 22 years, before moving into Waterford in 1969 She was a homemaker, but active at church. She was a Sunday School Teacher for over 25 years, a member of Ladies Aid since 1944; a charter member of Alter Guild and a member of senior friendship group at St. Peter’s Church. She was also a member of Waterford/Rochester Senior Citizens. Survived by her three children: Audrey Goehner of Burlington, Earl (Karen) of Wasilla, Alaska and David (Paige) of River Falls, WI. Further survived by Eight grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandsons. One sister in law: Rose Lackey of Milwaukee, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive her. Her parents preceded her in death; husband Prentice, and a dear granddaughter Sandi Mather, Also a sister Christine Storm and a brother Theodore Storm. Funeral services will be held at ST. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 145 South 6th Street-Waterford on Saturday June 16th at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Frederick Bischoff officiating. Visitation in church, Saturday 12-1:30. Burial following services at Oakwood Cemetery- Waterford. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or School and the Waterford Rescue. Larka’s family would like to thank Pastor Bischoff and all the members of St. Peter’s Church for their visits, calls and cards along with treats. Also a Thank You to the VNA nurses, especially Brandi and Laura and to the Waterford Rescue for your special attention and care of Mom.
