Kenneth O. Lass

Lass, Kenneth O. “Lefty the Clown” Age 82 Of Waterford and Tichigan area’s died Friday February 16th 2007 at Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. He was born in Milwaukee to Roman and Lorraine (nee. Hammer) Lass on June 14, 1924. He spent his early life in the Milwaukee area. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from March 15, 1943 to January 18, 1946. He was an Ironworker and construction worker by trade. But most of all he was a clown. Lefty volunteered at the Circus World Museum in Baraboo, WI and the International Clown Hall of Fame, at the VA Hospital in Milwaukee and the Circus during the Wisconsin State Fair. He was a member of L.A.F.T. clown club and cousin Otto’s club. Lefty enjoyed playing Santa Claus and entertaining children and adults of all ages it was his life. He is survived by daughters Carla (Bill) Dingel and Rhonda, and sons: John, Jimmy and Doug. Also survived by grandchildren Nathan and Ashley, further survived by numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless friends. His parents, one brother Roy “Whitey” and a son Ron Leiner, preceded him in death. Services Monday February 19th, 2007 at 7:00 P.M. in the Funeral Home with Deacon Carl Mahnke officiating. Visitation in the funeral home from 4-6:45 P.M Monday evening. Burial with Military Honors will take place on Tuesday February 20th at 12:00 Noon at Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery 21731 Spring Street, (Hwy C) Union Grove.
