Balint, Kathryn Marie (nee. Stelzer) age 97, of Waterford, passed away peacefully with loving family at her side on June 10, 2020. Kathryn was born in Milwaukee, WI on May 22, 1923, the daughter of the late Edward and Katherine (nee. Actacoz) Stelzer. She spent her early life in Milwaukee where she was a high school graduate. On October 10, 1942 she married Steven Joseph Balint. The couple raised three children in Milwaukee. Kathryn worked for Kohl’s department store as a cashier and worked for the Milwaukee County Elections committee. After moving to Waterford, she joined St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where she was a Sacramental Minister, helped with fish fries and accounting for the Sunday offerings. She was a volunteer at Burlington Memorial Hospital and enjoyed working with the Essman-Schroeder American Legion Post 20 Women’s Auxiliary. Kathryn so dearly enjoyed spending time with her family, she will be sadly missed.
Survived by three children, Kathleen (Jack) Guagliardo, Stephen Balint, and Ron (Suzanne) Balint; eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and three and a half great greatgrandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband Steven, daughter-in-law Judith Balint, and many sisters and brothers.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions Memorial Services are pending for a later date in Waterford, with Committal Services at Wood National Veterans Cemetery in Milwaukee where Kathryn will be buried alongside of her husband Steven. Please refer to our website for updates on her services:
