Mrs. Kathleen "Kathy" Marie Hansen

Hansen, Kathleen M. “Kathy” age 79, of Rochester, passed away at Oak Park Memory Care in Burlington on June 13, 2021. Kathy was born in LaPorte, Indiana on October 31,1941, the daughter of Paul and Loretta (nee. Godfrey) Whisler. Kathy spent her early life in LaPorte where she attended St. Joseph’s Grade School, LaPorte High School, and Sisters of St. Francis Convent High School in Mishawaka, Indiana. She then enrolled in the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee Campus. On December 7, 1968, she married Robert “Bob” Hansen in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The couple lived in the Milwaukee Metro area for many years. It was after Bob’s retirement that they settled in Waterford. Kathy was a church musician for many area churches; playing the organ and directing the church choir was her passion. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, rock hounding, and her rock collection. Kathy most loved the company of her family; she will be sadly missed by her dear family and friends.
Survived by her husband Bob, son Mark, daughter Michele (James) Jotka Jr., grandchildren, Kiefer and Byron Jotka; sister Carolyn Daly and brother Robert (Jeanne) Whisler. Further survived by other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held Saturday June 19, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with services beginning at 12:00 PM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 145 South 6th Street, Waterford, Wisconsin 53185. Burial in the church cemetery will follow services. DUE TO HEALTH REASONS family encourages NO FLOWERS. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, “The Word Today Radio Ministry” or the Alzheimer’s Association.
