Mr. John A. Schaefer Sr.

John A. Schaefer Sr., Kansasville, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2010, at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - All Saints in Racine, after a courageous battle with prostate cancer. He was born March 5, 1927, to Aloysius "Peter" and Esther Schaefer in Racine. He graduated from St. Mary's High School, class of 1945.
He married Eunice “June” Jante of Burlington on July 7, 1951 at St. Mary’s church in Dover.
He worked at American Motors for 19 years and spent the majority of his life farming in the Town of Dover.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Kansasville; children, Kathleen (Dave) Miller, Kansasville; John Jr. (Carol), Kansasville; Michael (Suzy), Marathon; and Wendy (Tim) Morrow, Greenwood, and six grandchildren; Luke, Brittani, Rachel, & Andrew Morrow, and Sarah & Megan Schaefer. Siblings; Frank (Helen) Schaefer and Janette (Bob) Schmeckel; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son; David Schaefer and granddaughter; Erika Morrow, siblings, Robert (Carolyn) Schaefer, Mary J. Schaefer, Leo (Joyce) Schaefer, Sr. Charles Schaefer, and Ann (Louis) Uhlenhake.
Visitation is from 3 pm to 6 pm on Friday, August 20th at the Mealy Funeral Home, 225 West Main Street, Waterford, with Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 7:00 pm, Friday August 20th at St. Mary's Church, 108 McHenry St., Burlington. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at 9:30 am on Saturday, August 21.
