Nemath, John, age 95, of Waterford, passed away peacefully on Friday March 11, 2016 at Burlington Rehabilitation Center. John was born on March 4, 1921 in Milwaukee, the son of James and Mary (nee. Balazo) Nemath. He spent his early life in Milwaukee and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On July 26, 1947 he married Anita R. Lois at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Waterford. John was a heavy machine operator for road construction, working for Payne and Dolan most of his life. John was a member of Tichigan Seniors and American Legion Post 20. After retirement he enjoyed fishing and jigsaw puzzles. He and his wife also enjoyed traveling on bus tours across the U.S.
John is survived by his loving wife Anita; four children: John, Gary, Gene Nemath and Lisa (Scott) Gunderson; eight grandchildren: Brad, Camille,Jason, Angel (Micky), Monica (Tom), Josh (Shelbi), Hannah (Adam), and Rebecca, along with fourteen great-grandchildren. He is further survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Joyce Nemath, Diana Nemath, Marie (Harold) Boulden, James Schaefer, Bob Uhen and Jay (Noreen) Lois; and by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and daughter-in-law: Vicki Nemath
Visitation will be held in the Funeral Home on Monday evening March 14, 2016 from 5-7 PM. Services will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 South First Street, Waterford, on Tuesday March 15 at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
