Mr. John "Jack" Martin

Martin Sr., John Edward “Jack”, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Waterford Senior Living at the age of 84. John was born January 15, 1929 in Burlington, WI to Edward and Lucille Martin. He spent his early years in Burlington, graduating from St. Mary’s High School. After high school he spent time serving in the United States Army. In April of 1953, John married his one true love, Helen Henningfeld. He spent the last 60 years living in Waterford and retired from Wisconsin Southern Gas Company after 43 years of service. John was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Waterford and the President of St. Vincent DePaul Society for many years. He loved fishing, his vegetable and flower gardens, model trains, but most of all he loved his wonderful family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. John is survived by his wife of 60 years: Helen, his children: Linda (Dale) Vos, Donna (Bruce) Kozminski, Ann (Robert) Ebbers, Mary Jo (Andrew) Swayze, and John Jr. (Barb) Martin. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, sisters and brothers: Mary Lou (Jack) Uhlenhake, Richard (Shirley), Bill, Tom (Barb), Lettie (Gus) Umnus, James (Carol), David (Corrine), Jerry (Nancy), Lois Spiegelhoff, and Jeanne Kerkman. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and close personal friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Donald. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 South First Street. Waterford, WI 53185. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 6:00 PM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Burial will be on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Cemetery, Please Meet In the Cemetery.
