Hopkins, John Frances Age 87 of Village of Waterford. Passed away at home with family at his side on Tuesday December 8, 2009. Born April 6, 1922 the son of the late Hollie and Catherine (nee.Heck) Hopkins of Lyons. On September 11, 1954 in Antioch, IL. married Betty Lou, Emily Laux and moved to Waterford, WI. John was a WWII Army veteran, where he was a Sergeant in the motor pool. After serving in the army he worked at J.W. Peters of Burlington as a heavy equipment operator, where he had retired. He is a former member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Waterford, WI. Also a former member of Waterford Fire & Rescue. He loved his antique engine shows, spending time with his grandkids, ice fishing, Milwaukee Brewers, yard work and sitting on his swing. Survived by loving wife: Betty Lou Emily (nee. Laux) Hopkins, Four Children: Sharon Lee (Dick) Schroeder–Eldorado, WI. Charlie Hopkins-Waterford, Charlene Krukowski-Waterford, Colleen (Sonny) Van Hara-Racine, Six Grandchildren: Danielle (Matthew) Weber, Joe Schroeder, Christopher Schroeder, Deanna (Fred) Trevino, John VanHara and Sarah Hopkins. Eight great-grandchildren, one sister, Imelda Fine-Elkhorn. Preceded in death by his parents, one grandson: Randy, Four Sisters and Two Brothers. Services Monday 14th 11:00AM at St.Thomas Catholic Church, 307 S. First St. Waterford, WI. 53185. Visitation in church 9-10:45 AM Monday. Burial at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 9000 Washington Ave. Racine, WI. 53406, Hwy 20 just east of Cty hwy H in Racine Monday the 14th at 1:45 PM. Please meet at the chapel.
