Mrs. Janet Frances "Jan" Mattke

Mattke, Janet “Jan” age 81 formerly of Waterford and Tomahawk Wisconsin passed away peacefully with immediate family by her side after a short battle with cancer at Aurora Hospital in Summit Wisconsin on Sunday September 24, 2017. Jan was born in Milwaukee August 30, 1936 the daughter of the late Louis and Gladys (Harlan) Koelsch. She spent her early life in St. Martins Wisconsin and was a graduate of Greendale High School. Jan worked for Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company early on and on July 1, 1967, she married Donald R. Mattke and the couple resided in Waterford before moving to Tomahawk in 1992. In her early days, she enjoyed fishing and boating, time outside gardening, feeding and watching her outdoor birds. Especially Cardinals and Hummingbirds. Jan’s most cherished time was spent with her only grandson Jesse and her great-grandson Jax!
Survived by daughters: Tammy Mattke (Russ Gaines) and Christine “Kris” Mattke. Grandson: Jesse Gaines, great-grandson Jackson, Sister: Elaine Hrnjak, Brothers: Roger and Earl Koelsch. Relatives and friends.
Proceeded in death by her parents, and husband Donald.
Memorial gathering with family and friends Saturday September 30, 2017 1-3 PM in the funeral home.
No services will be held per Jan’s request.
