Jane Minshall

Minshall, Jane P. (nee. Skarie) Age 87 of Eagle Lake Passed away at her residence on Friday April 13th, 2007. Jane was born to Oscar and Antoinette "Nettie" (nee. Kommers) Skarie in North Cape on January 6, 1920. She attended North Cape School and graduated Waterford Union High School in 1937. She than graduated Union Grove County Normal School in 1939, and later earned her B.A. in education at Dominican Racine College. On July 3, 1941 Jane married Harold W. Minshall, and after 51 years of marriage he preceded her in death on November 6, 1992. Jane started teaching in a one room school named Grant School for her first year, than taught at Beebe School for 35 years in the 1st grade, after Beebe school was closed she taught her last few years at Jerstad-Agerholm School. Jane was a lifelong member of North Cape Lutheran Church where she took part in the Sara Elizabeth Circle and held the office of Secretary. Jane’s grandparents Hans and Olena Skarie helped to start the North Cape Norwegian Lutheran Church which is now the North Cape Lutheran Church. Jane is survived by her sister Hope Barr & Brother Richard (Patricia) Skarie along with sisters in law Marcia Skarie and Carole Skarie, further survived by many nieces nephews, great nieces & great nephews, other relatives and friends. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, brothers: Donald and John Skarie, brother-in-law: John “Jack” Barr, sister-in-law: Alice (Earl) Helman. Services will be held Monday April 16, 2007 11:00 A.M. at North Cape Lutheran Church with Reverend Dean Natterstad officiating. Visitation in CHURCH Monday 10-11. Burial will follow services at the church’s cemetery. Memorials are suggested to North Cape Lutheran Church. Jane’s Family offers special thanks to Dr. Jim Simonds and nurse Kathy, thanks to Jeanette Wendlend for special care given to Jane and to FAITHFUL friends for their support over the past years including Bob, Maxine & Judy along with Jane’s sister-in-law: Marcia.
