Johnson, James Howard, age 68, of Burlington, passed away with his loving family by his side on January 11, 2016 at Lakeview Specialty Hospital in Waterford. James was born May 17, 1947 in Chippewa Falls, WI to Howard F. and Faith E. (nee. Hembrook) Johnson. James grew up in Rochester and attended schools in Burlington. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Forestry from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. On April 28, 1973 he married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Chazelle in Potosi, Missouri.
James was a very proud District Forest Ranger in the Shawnee National Forest for 13 years. He lived in MO, MN, MI, IL and back to good old WI where he was a 16 year resident of Burlington and an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Waterford. James loved spending time with his family and grandkids and had a real passion for fishing.
James in survived by his wife: Patricia; children: Joanne (John) Pawlowski, Jeff (Elizabeth) Johnson; grandchildren: Tyler, Christopher, Matthew, Nicholas, and Alaina. He is further survived by his sister: Joan (Jerry) Nowicki and brothers: John (Penny) Johnson and Joe Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 9-10:45 A.M. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 S. First St. Waterford, WI 53185. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 A.M. Burial will take place following Mass at St. Thomas Cemetery. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, James’ family suggests memorials to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
