Mr. James Harlow Albee

Albee, James Harlow, 75, of Waterford, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly in his home surrounded by family on November 6, 2019.

Jim was born in August 1944 to Harlow and Thelma Albee in Abilene, Texas. He graduated from Waterford Union High School in 1962 and the University of Wisconsin Whitewater in 1971. On September 30, 1972 he married his sweetheart Paulette (Goetzke) Albee. He obtained his pilot license in 1965. Jim served for six years in the Air Force Reserve as Sergeant, Loadmaster in the 440th Tactical Air Lift Wing. He worked for three decades in sales in the trucking industry before returning to his true passion of flying and teaching others to fly.

Jim was a lover of life and an optimist in the truest sense of the word. He was uniquely capable of seeing the positive in any situation. The glass was always half full. Jim was a kind man. Those whose lives were touched by Jim knew him to be a wonderful conversationalist. He was blessed with the gift of gab. His stories and voice will be remembered and dearly missed by many.

Jim is survived by his wife, Paulette Albee of 47 years; son David Albee of Waterford, WI; son Jeffrey Albee and wife Megan of Western Springs, IL; daughter Andrea (Albee) Post and husband Jeremy of Granger, IN; daughter Kellie (Albee) Shah and husband Amit of Elkhart, IN; his loving grandchildren, Jackson, Tanner, Lillian, Connor, Adalyn and Ella; brothers Lawrence Albee and Richard Albee; and cousins, nieces and nephews. Jim was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend.

Visitation will be from 9:30 am until 11:45 AM on Saturday, November 16 with a service at Noon at Mealy Funeral Home at 225 West Main Street Hwy 20, Waterford, WI 53185. Parking lots located: 1. Jefferson and Main, 2. Behind the Funeral Home and 3. Marty's Diamond. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery with Military Honors. A celebration of life will be held immediately afterwards in the Cotton Patch Room at the Cotton Exchange at 345 Hickory Hollow Rd, Waterford, WI 53185.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Legion Post 20 (checks can be dropped off or mailed to Mealy Funeral Home) or made to the Air Force Aid Society (at www.afas.org ).
