Jack Raymond Serchen

Serchen, Jack Raymond, age 85, of Waterford, passed away unexpectedly at Froedtert Memorial Hospital on October 6, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Jack was born in Marshfield, WI, September 23, 1932 to Adolph and Bertha (nee. Hauser) Serchen. Jack was educated in Marshfield before joining the Army in 1949. He was honorably discharged in 1952. Jack has been a resident of Waterford since 1977. He was an avid Lake Michigan fisherman, a baseball coach, a great dancer, and a big influence on all who knew him. He was a hospice volunteer, a Packers fan and a Cardinals baseball fan. Jack also made sure he was close to a television around 12PM to watch his favorite show, Gun Smoke. For Jack’s 80th birthday his family gave him the gift of skydiving, which he enjoyed immensely and said he would do this every 10 years from now on. The love he had for his family and friends was above all and he will be greatly missed.
Jack is survived by , six children: Deb Serchen, Cindy (Jim White) Towery, Laura (Kevin) Schmidt, Tom (Mary) Serchen, Paul Serchen, Charmaine (Ralph) Kumm; and June Decker his lady love: nine grandchildren: Troy, Tiffany, Justin, Brett, Tina, Angi (Kris), Ryan, Rachael and Mathew; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother: Roger, along with other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Jean, one brother: Don, one-sister-in-law: Hilma.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 9-10:45 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 S. First St., Waterford, WI 53185 with Mass of Christian Burial starting at 11 AM. A light snack will be served between 12-1:30 PM in the church hall. Burial will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring St., Union Grove, WI 53182 at 2 PM. In Lieu of floral expressions of sympathy Jack’s family would appreciate memorials to Children’s Hospital of Milwaukee or a favorite charity of your choice in Jack's memory.
