Helen I. Decker (Nee Joel), resident of Waterford, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at age 86 at Angel’s Grace Hospice on October 8, 2024. She was born on August 19, 1938, in Trenary, Michigan, to Lawrence and Dorothy Joel. On June 18, 1960, Helen married the love of her life, Roland Decker. They shared 64 wonderful years together and 3 children, Harvey, Roberta, and Bill. Helen loved traveling with her husband, going to the casino, playing cards with her siblings, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her loving husband, Roland Decker; children, Roberta (Stephen) Sparks and Bill Decker; grandchildren, James Russel, Tanya (TJ) Kloeffler, Jamie Sparks, and William Decker; and her brother Donald (Linda) Joel, as well as many nieces and nephews and loving friends. She is preceded in death by her son, Harvey Decker; her parents, Lawrence and Dorothy; and her siblings, Lawrence (Joyce) Joel, Gloria Wilson, James Joel, and Beverly Denman.
Visitation will occur on Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 12-1:15 p.m. at Cotton Exchange (345 Hickory Hollow Rd., Waterford, WI 53185), followed by a memorial service at 1:30 p.m.
The family would like to express deepest thanks to the team at Angel’s Grace Hospice for their compassion, care, and love throughout this time. Mealy-Stencel Funeral Home of Waterford is proudly serving the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated.
