Ress, Harold Floyd, age 84, of Rochester, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on January 16, 2018. Harold was born to William and Lillian (nee. Oertel) Ress on November 22, 1933 in Stratford, Wisconsin. He grew up in Marshfield and after graduating from high school moved to Milwaukee. Harold worked in Milwaukee as an auto mechanic for many years until he purchased his first service station in New Berlin. The service business was successful, and he owned and operated several stations. Interested in a new endeavor, he sold off the stations in 1985 and started Delavan Auto Sales. Harold enjoyed working in all aspects of his business so much that he held off retiring until 2015 at the age of 82. Harold loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren and will be dearly missed by all.
Harold is survived by three children: Annemarie (Leslie) Kaiser, Barbara (Mark) Myers, Julie (Douglas) Wagner; two grandchildren: Isaac and Isla Wagner; his long term significant other: Patricia Gjertson, brother and sisters: Ralph (Shirley) Ress, Shirley Andres, Geraldine (Jim) Knutson; along with other relatives and friends.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 9:30 – 11:15 AM at the Funeral Home, with services starting at 11:30 AM. A social gathering will take place at the Cotton Exchange (corner of Hwy's 20 & 83) following the service. A private burial will take place at a later date in Eagle River, WI.
