Zierer, Harley Bernard, age 83, of Elm Grove, formerly of Waterford, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on March 7, 2018. Harley was born in Phillips, WI on October 13, 1934, the son of the late Andrew and Beatrice (nee. Kenyon) Zierer. In 1952 he graduated from Phillips High School where he enjoyed basketball and many sports. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Upon his return to Wisconsin he married Geraldine P. (Geri) Jurva on July 29, 1961. In his younger days, he was a little league coach for Wauwatosa Recreation Department. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, boating and fishing, and watching Wisconsin sports teams. Harley was a retired union dock worker and truck driver for Express Freight Lines and Yellow Trucking Company. Later in life he and his wife Geri loved to winter in Fort Myers Beach, Fl.
Harley is survived by his loving wife Geri, children: Kyle (Jennifer) Zierer, Jacalyn (Roger) Torres and Traci (William) Niss; grandchildren: Megan, Frankie and Angela Torres, Maggie, and Anna Zierer; great-grandchildren: Jayden, Jasiah, and Natalia Steen. He is also survived by sister Patricia Korenak, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 9-10:45 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 South First Street, Waterford, WI 53185. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow Mass in the church cemetery.
