Kutz, Gerald (Jerry) A. age 84 of Winchester Wisconsin, formerly Waterford Wisconsin, passed away May 22, 2023, in Canada, doing what he loved…fishing. Jerry was born in Milwaukee on March 1, 1939, the son of the late Alvin Robert and Edna Eleanore (nee. Henke) Kutz. He was a 1956 graduate of West Allis Central High School. On October 21, 1961, he married Claire Lohr and the couple raised four children. Jerry was a horse trainer for many years in Illinois, working with three gait and five gait prize winning American Saddlebred horses. He then took on the challenge of auto mechanic working for John Lynch Chevrolet and retiring from WE Energies as a hydraulic mechanic. On March 19, 1988, he married Carolyn Werner. The couple lived in Winchester, WI and wintered in Sun City Arizona for many years. Jerry was an avid outdoorsmen-hunting, fishing and ice fishing, along with spending time operating a Fishing Charter on Lake Michigan. In his spare time he enjoyed golf and snowmobiling. He was a member of the Boulder Bucks, Presque Isle/Winchester Sno-Bunnies Snowmobile Club, and the River City Sporting Team. He will be sadly missed by all outdoorsmen, hunters and fishermen that he spent time with, along with his loving family.
Jerry is survived by his wife Carolyn, he is also survived by his four children: Stephanie (Matt Soiney) Kutz, Jeri (Dave) Starich, Darin (Gail) Kutz and Douglas (Meenakshi) Kutz-Palani; along with their mother Claire Kutz. Jerry is survived by nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren and his sister: Marilyn (Grant) Schaal. He is also survived by Carolyn’s children: Audrey Cooley and Karen Cooley along with their seven children and five grandchildren. He is further survived by his godson Greg (Barb) Schaal, nephew Clayton (Nicole) Kutz and niece Courtney (Kutz) Rizzuto and many great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roger Kutz.
A memorial gathering with family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 22 from 11am-1pm at Mealy-Stencel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 225 West Main Street, Waterford, WI. Services will begin at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to: Turtle Lake Chain Association. Checks made payable to: TLCA and dropped off or mailed to the funeral home.
