Pawl, George Joseph, age 88, of Wind Lake, passed away peacefully at the Elder Care Cottage’s with his loving family by his side on February 19, 2020. George was born in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Cecilia (nee. Mross) Pawl on September 29, 1931. George grew up and attended school in the Chicago area. After graduating high school, he attended Aeronautical University of Chicago where he earned his degree in aeronautics. He served his country in the Army and afterward met the love of his life, Janet Bernice Wall. They were married May 30, 1959 at “Our Lady Mother of the Church” in Norridge, IL. George was employed with Bell/Howell as a mechanical engineer. After retirement they moved to the Wind Lake area where they have lived for the past 30 years. Being an engineer George liked to build scale model airplanes, boating on the lake, motorcycle riding and cooking. George was quite the history buff, especially anything about WWII. Above all else, George’s love for his family was dearest to his heart. George will be truly missed by many.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 from 2-3:45 PM at St. Clare Catholic Church, 7616 Fritz Rd., Wind Lake, WI 53185. Mass will begin at 4:00 PM with a luncheon to follow.
In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy George’s family suggest memorials to “St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital” or “American Diabetes Association”.
The family wishes to extend a heart felt thank you to the staff at Waterford Memory Car, Elder Care Cottages and Allay Hospice for the loving care of George.
