Frank, Gary E. age 83, of the Town of Norway, passed away with his loving family by his side March 14 at Aurora Memorial Hospital in Burlington. Gary was born to Bernice (nee: Magnus) Huebner on November 12, 1938, in Milwaukee and was raised by her and his stepfather, Ray Huebner. Gary was raised and educated in the Milwaukee area and after graduating high school continued his education for two years at a trade school for drafting. He then started work as a draftsman for the Kyle/Eaton Corp. Gary found the love of his life in Arlene Janus and after their engagement were married August 13, 1960, in Milwaukee where they would start their family and live until moving to the Town of Norway in 1983. Gary was a long-time member of Blessed Sacrament Church and then St. Thomas Catholic Church, the Road Rebels Car Club, Accordion Club (Milw) and a Wisconsin collegiate and pro sports fan. Gary was a talented musician and played the accordian. He was inducted into the Accordion Hall of Fame on November 3,2002. He was a member of the Ferd Buschel Band and began his own Gary Frank Orchestra. Albums are available of his music. Gary also liked to go boating, drive his muscle cars, play golf, and was known to master the art of taking a good nap. All these things he liked to do would be second to the love he had for his family. He will be dearly missed.
Gary is survived by three children: Denise (Eric) Gear, Gina (Rich Edson) Vinz, Scott (Heather); six grandchildren: Gary (Jenn Parker), Ryan (Shannon) Jamie Gear, Kaila Frank, Kelly (Patrick), David Gear; four great grandchildren: Tucker, Dillon, Marley, Charlotte “Charlie”; and Gary’s special friend Maria, other nieces, nephews and many friends.
Preceded in death by his parents and loving wife.
A Memorial Gathering will take place at St Thomas Catholic Church 305 S. First Street in Waterford on Thursday March 24 from 4-6:45 PM and service starting at 7 PM. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy Gary’s family suggest memorials to “The Family” made out to Gina Vinz, to be distributed as to Gary’s wishes.
