Voss, Frederick J. “Fred” Age 61 died at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee June 25, 2009. Fred was born in Elkhorn, Wisconsin September 29, 1947 the son of the late Donald and Pharol (nee. Schloemilch) Voss. Fred spent his early life in Milwaukee. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, were he earned his National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Rifle Expert Badge. On November 14, 1970 he married Barbara L. Sromalski. The couple lived in Milwaukee until moving to the Tichigan Lake area of Waterford in 1983. Fred was a member of the Tichigan VFW Post, and Milwaukee DAV. He enjoyed playing the lottery and watching Sci-Fi with his grandson! Survived by loving wife of 38 years Barbara, Children: Jennifer Voss, Tracy (Brian) Alby and James “Jim”(Kristen) Voss. Proud Pappa to four grandchildren: Matthew, Danny, Anaya and Sarah. Also survived by two sisters: Diane Brown and Sue (Don) Speich, one brother: John (Monica) Voss, his mother-in –law Lucille, special friends: Joe Campbell and John Frye, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, and his father-in-law: Edwin. Memorial gathering will be held Wednesday July 1, 2009 10-11 am at the Chapel in Clement Zablocki VA Medical Center - Matusek Auditorium in Milwaukee, with services at 11 am with Reverend Norm Oswald officiating. Scattering of ashes with Military Honors will take place at the “High Ground” in Neillsville WI. at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to
