Francis (Fran) J. Wagner of Waterford, Wisconsin, 78 years of age, passed away at his home with his family by his side, surrounded by love, on September 27, 2024.
Fran was born on December 4, 1945, to the late Donald and Hildegard Wagner, in Burlington, Wisconsin. He spent time serving his country in the Army Reserves. Fran was united in marriage to Carol M. Wagner (Suminski) and they spent forty-eight wonderful years together, until her passing on March 27, 2017. Three years ago, Fran was blessed to find love again and married Patty J. Wagner (Gemoll) on July 7, 2023. They were so happy and perfect together.
Fran held the position of President at Citizens Bank, and also served on their Board of Directors. He additionally served on the YMCA and Phantom Lake Boards. A member of the Lions Club and Mukwonago Rotary. Fran was devoted to his faith and family and belonged to, and was involved at, St. Thomas Church and, in later years, St. Clare Catholic Faith Community. He led a life of service and his generosity, donations, and fundraising efforts were a true gift to any organization Fran was a part of. He will be remembered for his kind, humble, considerate, and generous spirit.
Survived by his loving wife, Patty J. Wagner; children Juliann (Scott) Christensen, David (Renee) Wagner, Tim (Shawnie) Gemoll, and Tony (Erin) Gemoll; grandchildren Claire Christensen, Nathan Christensen, Shelby Wagner, Caleb Wagner, Samuel Jones, Charlie Jones, Will Jones, Mya Gemoll, Tommy Gemoll, Joey Gemoll, Travis Gemoll, and Lilly Gemoll; sister Rita (Ed) Larsen; and sister-in-law Collette Suminski. Also survived by many other family members and friends, several of whom were special and devoted. Fran was blessed to have you in his life. Fran may be missed most by his favorite furball Brie, who was always at his side. Preceded in death by his parents, Carol, brother Eddie, and brother-in-law John Suminski.
Services will take place on Wednesday, October 9th, at St. Clare Catholic Church (7616 Fritz Road, Wind Lake, WI 53185). Visitation held from 10AM-11:45AM followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. Burial at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Cemetery (621 Beck Drive, Waterford, WI, 53185).
In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Clare Catholic Faith Community (https://www.stclarewindlake.org/) or St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Faith Community (https://www.saintthomaswaterford.org/) would be greatly appreciated in accordance with Fran’s wishes.
Fran’s family would like to extend their thankfulness and appreciation to ProHealth Care Oncology and their Home Hospice Team for not only giving us their best, but also care, compassion, love, and hope. They also want to extend their thankfulness and appreciation for the outpouring of love, prayers, cards, and phone calls. You helped make Fran’s difficult journey easier for both him and us to bear. May God bless all of you who have touched our lives during this time.
