Mrs. Frances Thomas

Thomas, Frances J., age 99, of the village of Rochester, passed away with her loving family by her side on June 22, 2016 at Waterford Senior Living. Frances was born to Anton and Anna (nee. Mense) Troha on May 12, 1917 in Savanah, IL. She spent her early life in Savanah and after graduating high school married James E. Thomas in Joplin, MO, July 06, 1944. After marriage the couple moved to Illinois, then to East Troy, WI and finally to Rochester where they have resided for 57 plus years. Frances retired from Northern Engineering and she found the love of doing ceramics, baking, canning and sewing, but none of those hobbies compared to the love she had for spending time with her grandkids and great-grand kids.
Frances is survived by: children: Deborah (Fred) Clausing, Cathleen (Robert) Faber, Anna (Manson) Troha, Cathleen (Robert) Faerber, Dennis Thomas, Charles (Jan) Thomas, James Thomas; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Barbara Ferguson and Margaret Parenti; sister-in-law: Mary Troha; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, sisters and brothers.
Visitation will be held on Saturday June 22, 2016 from 9-10:45 A.M. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 S. First St. Waterford, with services starting at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow services at Rochester Cemetery.
