Sossaman, Floyd, “Red”, Age 88, of Wind Lake, passed away September 12, 2011. He was born December 18, 1922, in Colby, Wisconsin, son of the late Wallace and Florence (nee.Tessmer) Sossaman. On December 13, 1947 he married Marcia B. Schultz in Colby, WI. The couple lived in Milwaukee and then Muskego, and the past few years in Wind Lake. He served his country in the Army during World War II as a messenger, conveying messages between various army units on motorcycle. Red was a member of the Colby VFW, a past member of the Muskego Volunteer Fire Company and he also helped with Water Patrol on Little Muskego Lake. Red loved to travel and camp and spend time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife Marcia, five children: Terry (Jane) of Waterford, Candace (Peter) Zak of Appleton, Russell of Waterford, Gail (David) Curtin of Wisconsin Rapids and Thomas of Rochester; thirteen grandchildren: Michelle, Leslie, Sarah, Michael, Jason, Julie, Kevin, Christopher, Kimberly, Carrie, Rebecca, Robert and Jamie; fourteen great-grandchildren, two brothers: Douglas and Ralph (Wilma), one sister: Dixie (Ken) Ingersoll, sisters-in-law: Nila, Marie Sossaman, Teda, Elaine Schultz and Ruth Mulkins. Further survived by nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Darrell, Herman and Claude and sister: Phyllis Joy. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 16, at 5:00 PM in the Funeral Home, with visitation from 3-4:30 on Friday. Private family inurnment at St.Thomas Cemetery in Waterford at a later date. Family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Hales Corner Care Center for their loving care of Floyd.
