Jacobson, Florence M. Age 92 passed away in Waterford September 9, 2008. She was born on the family farm in Waterford April 25, 1916 the daughter of the late Leo W. and Magdalen (nee. Blattner) Henningfeld. Florence attended St. Thomas Catholic Schools in Waterford and on October 26, 1935 she married John E. Jacobson whom preceded her in death August 10, 1981. Florence was a farmerÂ’s wife and bookkeeper for the familyÂ’s farm in Waterford. Long time member of Christian Mothers Society at St. Thomas and served as President, she was a member of the Waterford Seniors Club as she loved playing Sheepshead. Long time volunteer as a Pink Lady at Burlington Memorial Hospital earning her 1,000-hour pin. Florence also worked election polls, helped with St. Thomas Parish dinners & prayed her Rosary every day. Greatly loved her Children, Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren. Survived by three children: Marlene (Dean) Anderson, Carl (Jeri-Joy) Jacobson and Dan (Nancy) Jacobson, Grandchildren: Deane (Susie) Anderson, James (Jodi) Jacobson, Jeffrey, Jason & Dr. Anne (John Lim) Jacobson, Brian Jacobson, Carrie (Steven) Lee and Debra Thornton, along with eleven great-grandchildren. Three sisters: Helen (Jack) Martin, Lou Hegemann and Dorie (Don) Martin. Sisters-in-law: Agnes, Marian & Germaine Henningfeld, and Louella Schmidt & Myrtle Jacobson. Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends Preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, Sister Mae (Buzz) Beeson, Brothers: Roman, Robert and Lee Henningfeld, Sisters-in-law: Blanche Kempken Aldrich, Edith (Lester) Patterson and Cora (Amandus) Olson, Brothers-in-law: Lloyd Schmidt and Lyle Jacobson, Friends: William Aldrich and William Beck. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday September 13th at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church 307 South First Street (Hwy 20) Waterford at 11:00 AM With Reverend Gene Doda officiating. Visitation in church Saturday 9-11 AM. Burial in the Church Cemetery following Mass. In lieu of flowers, Memorials are suggested to St. Thomas School or St. Thomas Building Fund.
